We can use the intranet method in our business to communicate with our employees through a private server. The employees are the only ones who can get to the sites on the Internet and get past the firewall. We use VPN to secure our information for only our business. Then we only let out certain information as extranet to other businesses.

Blog Entry 4.1- IFS H/W Infrastructure

The image above is showing how exactly a computer functions. The computer reads objects as 1 or 0 which means on or off. For every letter, there is a code so if you write a word like "hello" the computer goes through a code for each letter. The 8-bit code for the letters is called the ASCII. After the codes inputs onto the computer, the computer then saves or stores the codes inside the H/W. Then you see the word hello through the monitor after the computer outputs the codes.
